Well. That Happened.

The Philadelphia Eagles (5-7) drove up 295 to take on their NFC East rival, the New York Giants (4-7) in a mediocre matchup early Sunday afternoon. The Giants beat the Eagles in a game that felt like it went on forever, 13-7.

It was a slow moving game for both teams, as both of them went three-and-out on their opening possessions. Then, the Giants were the first to put points up on the board. From there, it was smooth sailing for the New York team.

Key players on the Eagles defense kept the Giants offense from scoring more points. Avonte Maddox and Alex Singleton both had eight tackles. Singleton also had four assists. Darius Slay and Derek Barnett also made big stops where necessary to keep the Giants' score as low as possible.

That winning momentum on the Giants carried over to the second half, as they scored 10 more points. Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, was 19-of-30 for 202 yards and one touchdown. Giants star running back, Saquon Barkley, had 13 carries for 40 yards.

The Eagles attempted a "garbage time" comeback in the fourth quarter, but were unable to do so on every drive they had. Their sole touchdown was from Boston Scott, Eagles running back. It came down to seconds in the fourth quarter and miscommunication plagued the Philadelphia team all through that time.

Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts, is 14-of-31 for 129 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions. Scott had 15 carries for 64 yards and one touchdown.

The Philadelphia Eagles fall to 5-7 as their chances at playoffs and the NFC East title slowly become out of reach. The New York Giants improve to 4-7.

Next week, the Eagles stay at MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets (3-8). The Giants will take on the Miami Dolphins (5-7).
