It’s been a slow start the Philadelphia Eagles first half, as the Giants have been all over the Philadelphia team to lead 3-0 early Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
The Giants started with the ball, but had a quick three-and-out thanks to the Eagles defense. Then, it seemed as though the two teams switched places at the Eagles had their own three-and-out on their opening possession.
Jalen Hurts, Eagles quarterback, is 8-of-15 for 73 yards and two interceptions. He also has five carries for 39 yards. Boston Scott, who’s been known as a “Giant Killer” coming into this game, has had four carries for 17 yards.
With the Eagles first chance at taking the lead in the game, the Giants defense picked off the Eagles in the end zone to shut them out for the first half.
If you’re the Eagles, you need to take these mistakes and correct them urgently. The pressure that the Eagles defense applied last week and how creative they were on offense is something the team still needs to execute.
There should be no excuse for the Giants to be up by three. The Eagles should be able to adjust and execute accordingly. The Eagles defense needs to wake up, break ankles, and get aggressive.
Meanwhile, the Giants should continue to do what they’re doing. As mentioned in Sports Talk Philly, the Giants should do quite a few things to keep the Eagles at bay. So far, the Giants are doing just that.
